Roof window sizes are chosen based on rafter spacing and the desired amount of light in the room - standard-width windows often fit between existing rafters without additional structural changes, while wider windows or combinations of two windows require an extra beam or opening reinforcement. Mounting height from the floor affects both the view from inside and ease of use - we assess it together with the roof pitch and room layout already during the site visit.

Depending on room height and accessibility, we choose the appropriate window opening mechanism - centre-pivot windows at a lower mounting height, or top-hung models for rooms with a low ceiling line. Electrically operated models with remote control are also available - a convenient solution at a hard-to-reach mounting height. Across all variants, the flashing kit's installation principle stays the same - only the window construction and control solution differ.

Quality control

What We Check Before Handover

After installation we check the continuity of the waterproofing connection, the seal of the insulation frame, and the vapor-barrier closure on the inside, as well as the window's operation and the seal around the sash. We also check that the outer covering is trimmed water-tight around the window and that the drip cap above the window is correctly positioned, so rainwater doesn't pool at the window's upper edge.
